Much like many other people, I had some terribly difficult things happen in my childhood. In turn, I was diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder at a young age and developed a nasty habit of grinding my teeth every night. My painful past then led me to make some very self-destructive decisions as a teenager. At the age of 20 I turned my life around with much help and support from my loving family and friends. Soon after I found my true passion in life as a Recreation Therapist, specializing in outdoor adventure for people living with different disabilities. As a professional and now healthy individual I have struggled with not only the physical discomfort of my damaged teeth but the visual reminder of my distressing history. When I looked in the mirror I saw the pain that used to be, not the solid and happy person I had worked so hard to become.
Dr Glenn Van As and his amazing team gave me my healthy smile back. I can't tell you how fortunate I feel to smile proudly at last and look forward to the future, living my dream, helping others to realize theirs. I am now ready to climb the next mountain and take on all of life's adventures, both personally and professionally. I really didn't know what to expect after all of their hard work but I must say, it is quite a gift to have a new level of confidence, I just can't help but to smile...
Thank you for the opportunity Dr Glenn!
Much respect and gratitude

Veneers
These are the second set of veneers that Dr. van as has done for me and both times my appointments and results were great! I am particularly pleased with my current veneers as Dr. van as increased the amount of gum tissue that would show when I smile. Again, a very natural and welcoming smile was the end results!
In summary, having a fantastic smile just makes me want to smile more everyday!
Thanks Glenn!

I have never been confident about my teeth. Every time I smile, I would always smile with my mouth closed.
I always thought about getting my teeth done, but I never did it because I was concerned about the surgery. However, Dr. van As explained everything and made me feel very comfortable Throughout the whole process he was patient and understanding and made sure I had exactly what I wanted.
In the end, the result was amazing! I couldn’t believe what a great job he had done. Now I am proud to smile and show my beautiful teeth.
Thank you to Dr. van As and everyone at Canyon Dental Centre.

Veneers
In October of 2003, just a few days before Halloween my boyfriend was dog sitting while the owner was away. I was un-aware he had given his dog as well as the other dog a treat. While my boyfriend jumped in the shower I decided to go into the living room to watch some TV. As I was approaching I noticed Raido (one of the dogs) was in my way to get to the couch. All I was going to do was step over him when he lunged at my face and bit it. The whole thing happened so fast. Their was blood in my mouth and I had no vision on my left eye. I went into the bathroom and called out my boyfriend’s name. When I looked in the mirror it was shocking.....My eye brow was flapped over my eye and my mouth was ripped from the corner which caused it to curl up my cheek bone and into the middle of my nose. All you could see were teeth and gums.
Luckily when we got to the hospital I was seen right away. The doctor was very nice and did a great job at stitching me up. It took her 3 times to stitch my mouth so the corners would match up, 4 hours and 52 stitches later I was all done.
My eyebrow scar never seemed to bother me, but my mouth scar was a different story. Every time I looked in the mirror it was all that I saw. It caused the eye to naturally look at my teeth. I hated how the bottom half of my face looked and I noticed that I wasn't smiling as much as I used to.
My boyfriend introduced me to his dentist Dr. Glenn van As whom he met years ago when Glenn had fixed his front teeth when he fell and smashed them out rollerblading. I had heard great things about Glenn and his office. I was excited to meet them.
Having my first consultation with Glenn I had mentioned I would love to get veneers. Glenn talked about the pros and cons of veneers and the different styles of them. I was ecstatic! Glenn and his office staff were so nice and caring that I knew I was in great hands. The temps were a bit of a challenge, as they would fall off if I was to rough with them but Glenn and his staff were fantastic at having me come in with little notice to correct them.
Then the day came to have my permanent veneers put in.........I was so excited I maybe slept for 3 hours the night before. When Glenn was finished words could not express my gratitude. They are perfect! Now I can't help but smile all the time to show off my perfect smile.
I am so thankful to Glenn and his staff for being so caring and understanding of my story. Their professionalism and all around great attitudes towards patience's is something that should not go un-noticed. From the bottom of my heart I am grateful to have met them.

The first words I spoke to Dr. van AS were: “Nothing personal, but in general, I donʼt like
dentists”. As a child, one of my front teeth was broken in half when I fell on the ice of the
family pond while skating. My parents took me to a dentist who previously practiced on
four-legged creatures and had decided to switch to two-legged ones! Many dentists and
many years later, I entrusted my dental care to Dr. van As and Iʼve never made a better
decision thus far in my life! He afforded me treatment options ensuring I understood the
pros and cons of each option. He and his above-excellent staff treated me with
patience, dignity, kindness and loads of information and explanations throughout the
treatment process. Nine months later (happy coincidence) they ʻdeliveredʼ my beautiful
smile, and there really arenʼt enough “THANK YOUʼs”!

At first I was hesitant to get the 6th Month Smile procedure, after going through the
process of braces years ago, but I am beyond happy with the results this time around.
My friends hardly noticed my 6th Month Smile braces on my teeth, which made it a lot
easier. I canʼt thank Dr. Glenn and his staff enough for genuinely showing that they care
about the results as much as I do. They went to great lengths to make sure that I was
totally satisfied and now I can smile with confidence!
